Santa Fe Studios presents a special screening of 'ACT OF VALOR' with director Scott Waugh

The Santa Fe Independent Film Festival (Santa Fe IFF) in partnership with Santa Fe Studios presents a special screening of ACT OF VALOR with director SCOTT WAUGH (Mr. & Mrs. Smith, We Were Soldiers, Last of the Mohicans) on Friday 19 October. WAUGH, Co-Founder of Bandito Brothers, an independent creation studio with his business partner Mike McCoy in 2006, has been a producer, director, editor, cameraman and stuntman in the business of film. In January 2012, Variety named him one of the top 10 directors to watch in film. WAUGH is set to direct Need For Speed, the DreamWorks adaptation of the EA video game.
WAUGH, as a commercial director, showcases human stories within incredible action. Act of Valor, directed by Mike McCoy and SCOTT WAUGH, and written by Kurt Johnstad, is one of the top independent films made in this genre. It stars Alex Veadov, Roselyn Sánchez, Nestor Serrano, Emilio Rivera, and active duty U.S. Navy SEALs and U.S. Navy Special Warfare Combatant Crewmen. Act of Valor stormed to the top of the 2012 box office charts in the US. Relativity Media's president of worldwide distribution, Kyle Davies, said: “How often can you repeat the same heroes that are big stars pretending to be heroes? I think moviegoers are ready for a new, fresh experience.”
WAUGH will attend the screening of Act of Valor and conduct a Q&A session following the screening at the Warehouse 21 Theater in Santa Fe, NM on Friday, October 19 @ 7:00 PM. On Saturday, October 20th, WAUGH will be a panelist at the Santa Fe IFF Filmmakers Brunch. The focus of the Filmmakers Brunch program is the advancement of filmmaking in New Mexico and highlighting both capital and human assets available, including opportunities on the horizon. The Santa Fe IFF Filmmakers Brunch is hosted by Hotel Santa Fe and sponsored by Garson Studios, IATSE Local 480 and the Livingry Foundation.
